A Fond Farewell
Today is sadly my last day at Step.
My first contact with Step came when Edward (my husband) was being interviewed for a position at Verso Vineyard Church back in 2021. Chris Birch-Evans (Step’s Director) was on the interview panel for the first round and once the Zoom interview (the joys of Covid working!) was over I remember Edward coming in to talk to me about this brilliant schools work charity and some of the work they were doing in the local area.
It’s been just over 2 years since I joined the wonders of the Step Staff Team. It has been an absolute joy to be a part of such an incredible team and when I say incredible team I don’t just mean the Staff Team but also our ever-growing Volunteer Team!
To pick a favourite story or moment from my time here would not be possible, there are too many and they are too wide ranging. This in and of itself shows the depth and the breadth of the work we do here at Step. For me the past 2 years have taught me, grown me, challenged me and helped me to thrive. My prayer continues to be that anyone who interacts with Step whether young or old has this experience.
As I move to the Lake District I leave with a tonne of memories, wonderful friendships and such excitement to see how God will move through Step in St Albans and Harpenden in the season ahead.
