Refreshed and Resourced at the National Youth Ministry Weekend
Last weekend, the majority of our staff team had the privilege of attending the National Youth Ministry Weekend (NYMW) in Birmingham, thanks to generous funding from the Verulam House Fund Trust and 2 free tickets after Helena's marvellous wheel spinning on stage last year.
It was a time of refreshment for the team as we enjoyed time together in worship, fellowship over food and in our spare time we took advantage of the benefits of being in a hotel on the same site as the conference. We were also resourced with some fantastic teaching in the main sessions and a variety of seminars on topics ranging from how to be inclusive with those with disabilities to how to tame the smartphone and much more.
Each year, Youthscape, who organise the weekend, provided several free resources for us to add to Step's library of activities, which we are excited to start using. It also provided an excellent opportunity to network with the wider Christian youth ministry community- both from our locality and more nationally. We left feeling excited to be part of something much greater than just our own ministry.
Over the next few weeks, we shall be reflecting as a team how the inspiring weekend will impact our work in our local schools and we are already excited about attending again next year.
