Walk through the Bible at Verulam
Over the last couple of weeks, either side of half term, we have been teaching our Walk through the Bible lesson with Verulam’s Year 8 classes. The lesson involves a brief introduction to the Bible before the students prepare and act out 5 different stories from the Old Testament. The stories we use varies depending on the school and the preferences of the lesson leader, but at Verulam we have been looking at Adam and Eve, Abraham and Isaac, Moses and the Exodus, David and Goliath and Daniel and the Lions’ Den.
As the groups perform their usually entertaining renditions of these famous stories, which includes various props, we fill in a few gaps to paint a story of the Bible as God’s rescue mission, culminating in the arrival of Jesus.
We had some wonderful performances the last couple of weeks (and we’ve got one rearranged lesson to come this week) and on the back of them, several boys attended our Christianity Unpacked group wanting to find out more.
